Known as a keen problem solver among his many colleagues and customers in the industry, Brendan would be the first to say that one of his greatest attributes is his sense of humour. Here is a man with in-depth knowledge of the supply side of the welding industry as well as outstanding people skills – both excellent assets in his role as Queensland Account Manager – Distribution.
Brendan has been involved with sales management in the welding equipment, consumable and gas supply industries for over seventeen years and has a wide network of contacts. He understands that sometimes a customer or distributor ‘needs it yesterday’ and is adept at getting a great solution while maintaining goodwill and friendly cooperation in all quarters.
He says that the best part of his job is meeting people and being able to help them achieve their goals and build their businesses, either as a distributor or end user, particularly when it’s a local or family enterprise. Seeing how he has been able to contribute to their success gives Brendan immense satisfaction.
With an interest in business processes and information technology, Brendan takes pride in applying best practice to his use of customer relationship management systems. ‘When learning a new system, it’s really important to establish good habits right from the start’ he says. The centralised WIA database and team sharing of information suit him down to the ground.
Fitness is a high priority for Brendan who loves cross country runs and obstacle racing. He and his wife have a wide circle of friends who train together and support and motivate each other to stay healthy. They also have two teenage children who keep them on the run – or at least in the car. With one P-plater and one first job hunter it’s lucky they both enjoy driving.
Brendan definitely has a sense of humour – he reckons that his good looks are one of his big contributions to the WIA team!
